Here is just a few of the events organised by friends of Papua.

Papua Partners would like to thank everyone for their much valued support.

Holy Trinity Church

The congregation of Holy Trinity Church in Westcott once again dig deep for Papua and raise 5,000

In May 2009, Papua Partners gave a presentation of the work and achievements of our local team in Papua to the congregation of Holy Trinity Church Westcott.   The presentation was in full video which gave the congregation more idea of the Papuan people and the challenges they face.  The presentation was followed by a parish lunch in the local pub.  Our immensely valued congregation raised a staggering total of 5,000 (including Gift Aid).

A Coast to Coast Donation

Julia and Alex Castle walk coast to coast across Scotland raising a much needed 1,000

In June 2009, a local young couple Julia and Alex Castle walked from coast to coast  across Scotland through some of the most spectacular scenery in all of Britain.  Papua Partners would like to thank Julia and Alex for their huge contribution and for raising over 1,000 for our work in Papua.

Pilgrims Way Bike Ride

The Pilgrims Way Bike Ride (a 145 mile off-road event) held on 13th to 15th June 2008 raised a staggering 16,500.

Our thanks and appreciation goes to Stuart Glass and all the bike riders on the day that chose to support our work in Paupa.  Riding 145 miles, mostly off road, in 2 days is a testing challenge - so once again, a huge thank you to everyone who participated and helped us raise these much needed funds.

An Evening with Urban Voices at St. Mary's Church, Bramshott

The evening raised 150 for Papua Partners.

St Mary's, Bramshott hosted a Gospel evening with Urban Voices raising money and profile for Papua Partners on the 23rd June, 2007. Many people who attended the event were unsure of what to expect, but the feedback from everyone who attended was tremenous.

Here's what they said:

"I was blown away by the quality"

"They should perform at Spring Harvest"

"Their voices sent tingles to my spine"

"This is the first time St Mary's has ever hosted a Gospel choir"

"When are they coming back?"

The performance included an introduction to Papua Partners, and was followed by a range of songs which included 'Oh Happy Days'; 'I Bless your Name'; 'Bridge Over Troubled Water'; 'Amazing Grace'; 'God Great God'; 'Total Praise'; and a number of others. The choir consisted of a combination of professional musicians and church worship leaders, all based in London. The performance was followed with an opportunity to meet the choir and find out more about Papua Partners over a glass of sparkling wine.

Fortunately for us, the choir really enjoyed their day as well. Here's a message from Karl the Director of Urban Voices.

"Thank you so much for your warmth and for welcoming us. We loved our day out and your community are very welcoming. We would love to come back if you would invite us to in the future."

We are proud to say that raising money and profile for Papua Partners is a mission of St Mary's, Bramshott and Church Centre, Liphook.
